at First Parish in Concord
We raised $28,733 from 200 walkers representing 9 towns, 1 school, 17 faith groups, and 1 supper program. We applaud Frank Austin of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Acton, who is concluding almost 25 years as their faithful recruiter! And we welcome Westminster UCC to their first CROP Walk with us.
You can sponsor a walker, or just donate to the CROP Walk online through the Concord CROP page of the CROP Hunger Walk web site. Walkers can also accept cash or checks. Checks should be made payable to CWS/CROP.
CROP Hunger Walks are "Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty"-- neighbors walking together to take a stand against hunger in our world.
Funds raised by the Concord area CROP Walk go to Church World Service (CWS) for worldwide emergency relief of disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes; for refugee aid; and for fighting the root causes of hunger through community development programs in 80 underdeveloped countries. In addition, one quarter of these funds raised will provide substantial contributions to the ten local supper/food pantry programs that we support.
See the Crop Walk brochure for examples of CWS Development programs.
Thank you to our corporate sponsors for supporting the 2015 Concord CROP Walk
