at First Parish in Concord
Thanks to all the walkers and sponsors for contributing to this year's CROP walk. We raised $39,915 from 190 walkers representing 8 towns, 2 schools, 15 faith groups, and 1 supper program.
You can still sponsor a walker, or just donate to the 2014 CROP Walk online through the Concord CROP page of the CROP Hunger Walk web site.
CROP Hunger Walks are "Communities Responding to Overcome Poverty"-- neighbors walking together to take a stand against hunger in our world.
Funds raised by the Concord area CROP Walk go to Church World Service (CWS) for worldwide emergency relief of disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, and earthquakes; for refugee aid; and for fighting the root causes of hunger through community development programs in 80 underdeveloped countries. In addition, one quarter of these funds raised will provide substantial contributions to the ten local supper/food pantry programs that we support.
See the Crop Walk brochure for examples of CWS Development programs.
Thank you to our corporate sponsors for supporting the 2014 Concord CROP Walk
